GreenRoc is focused on fast-tracking the development of its flagship Amitsoq Graphite Project to develop a new, responsibly mined, source of high-quality graphite that can support the rapidly growing Li-ion battery market.

GreenRoc is aiming to build capability to process Amitsoq graphite into anode ready material.

In October 2025 GreenRoc was granted strategic project status under the EU critical raw materials act for both the extraction of graphite at Amitsoq and for the processing of graphite concentrate into AAM in Norway.

In October 2025 GreenRoc secured a €5.2 million loan facility with the Danish Export and Investment Fund, EIFO.

Graphite is projected to be in severe deficit before the end of this decade (Source: BMI, 2023).

Graphite is considered a critical mineral by the USGS and a strategic mineral by the EU. Graphite is essential for the energy transition as it makes up the active component in Li-ion battery anodes, with an electric car battery containing 40-80 kg of purified, coated, spherical graphite (cSPG). Another substantial demand comes from the fast growing Battery Electric Storage Systems (BESS) for e.g. solar farms.

As a result, demand for graphite is rapidly growing as countries phase out internal combustion engine vehicles to meet climate targets, and Benchmark Mineral Intelligence now forecasts that graphite will be in supply deficit by the end of this decade, coinciding with the time GreenRoc's production will hit the market.

Today, China dominates the global graphite supply chain and, in December 2023, has introduced export restrictions on battery grade graphite products.

GreenRoc is therefore working to create a secure European supply of coated, purified graphite anode material using graphite from our Amitsoq deposit to support the green transition.

The Amitsoq mine and concentration facility will be located in the south of mining-supportive Greenland, only few days by ship from European ports.

GreenRoc plans to locate an active anode processing plant near a European port with access to abundant CO2-neutral energy.
